A quick interlude

nevermore999In this chapter, Usagi goes undercover at a ball with Mars and Mercury, and her FORBIDDEN ROMMMANCE with Tuxedo Kamen moves forward a little. Incredibly similar to the episode in the anime and not completely important, but I had the scans on my computer anyway, so I thought why not?
Plot stuff! Luna's all "IT COULD DESTROY THE WORLD" and Ami's like "..and you were not planning to tell us this part even though we were looking for it?" and Luna's like "SHUT UP AMI"
They go undercover lookin' for the crystal when they see a princess coming in with a treasure. The villians get the same idea. The princess gets possessed, Usagi tackles her and ends up getting thrown off the building.
My love for this page is pretty much my reason for this post- I dunno why I even love it. I just really like the umbrella panel, the way Mamoru clings to her and sweetly thanks her (BEFORE DASHING AWAY BECAUSE HE IS JUST TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL just such a dork). Also, note while in the anime Luna throws her the pen, she takes it out herself here. It's a small thing, but it sort of demonstrates that at this point in the manga she's a little more proactive than she is at the same point in the anime. Though I still think she's super cool in both, of course!
WELL MAYBE YOU SHOULD JUST HAVE A SLAP FIGHT OVER WHO SAVES WHO MORE.Usagi would win.
So, our three heroes defeat the villian, and Usagi proceeds to...
...accidentally get drunk. Man, either that's strong or the girl's a lightweight. Probably the latter.
Okay, Mamoru what are you doing.
Um, it's great that you're all consumed with your eternal destined love and remembering past lives and all BUT YOU DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A GIRL WHEN SHE IS PASSED OUT AND DRUNK. STOP BEING A CREEPER, YOU HAVEN'T EVEN ASKED HER OUT YET. Luna agrees with me and runs up to tell Mamoru to get the hell away from her! Sassy Luna!
(I think there's a really awkwardly hilarious moment in the anime when Usagi is all like "do you remember our first kiss?" and Mamoru is like "...ummmmm...." At least he realizes what he did was kind of creeptastic.)
Luna is such a good kitty, protecting Usagi and DEMANDING ALL THE ANSWERS.
Way to be melodramatic, Mamoru. Makooooo! :DD My favorite! Well, in the manga it tends to flip flop but she's up there. In the anime, she's consistently the best there is. In the world.
